WELLSPRING FOR GIRLS

Partner:Wellspring Living
Type:General
Description:

Survivors of the child sex trade in Atlanta have lived through a hellish reality. Wellspring for Girls guides these victims (ages 12-17) away from that dark place and into a bright future. We use innovative counseling and education techniques to offer hope, healing and restored dignity in a holistic way.

By providing counseling, group therapy, education, life skills and vocational training, family reunification as well as spiritual care, the Wellspring for Girls Program helps exploitation survivors heal and move forward.

Ways you can help:

  • Academic Mentor. Academic Mentors assist our teachers by tutoring and aiding individual study.
  • Connection Class Teacher. Be a part of her recovery by teaching the women in our program valuable life management skills. Classes are taught at the convenience and expertise of the volunteers. Topics cover everything from resume creation to healthy cooking.
  • Saturday Activities. Participate in one of our fun or educational, monthly activities to get to know the girls. Contact us to find out what this month’s activity is.
  • Graduation Sponsor. Organize some of the logistics, the snacks, and decorations for the celebration at the end of a girl’s time in the program and possibly a high school graduation.

Volunteers must have a personal relationship with Jesus, growing in faith and with healthy prayer life. Volunteers must be patient, very dependable and able to build relationships even in tough circumstances.  All volunteers who work at Wellspring for Girls must have background checks completed and finish training course.

Volunteers must be at least 20 years old.
